     Programming

     The Computer Training program was designed to provide computer knowledge to young women who had recently graduated from high school.
65% of the participants have found computer related jobs, or have been helped with their college work; 15% of the graduates of the program have enrolled in college and others have attended other courses offered by RWAR. The program ran through 1999.

     Meetings

     International Conferences
     "European Roma Women Organization Budget" - ongoing meetings with reporesentatives of the Roma communities from Central and Eastern Europe for the purpose of setting up the Roma Women Eastern European Organization.
     We held meetings with Roma women's groups from Croatia, Bulgaria and Macedonia and will be meeting with Roma women from Hungary as well. A multi-national meeting is scheduled in Bucharest to coincide with the launch of the new Roma Women's website and with the membership in the Stability Pact of the Organization for Security in Central Europe (OSCE).
     
The International Conference on "Public Policies for Roma Women in Eastern Europe" took place in Bucharest on December 3-5, 1999.
Its purpose was the creation of an organization for Roma women from Eastern Europe and the identification of common goals and principal duties inside the new network. Ms. Violeta Dumitru and RWAR were the main forces behind the Conference, which was funded through a grant from the EAST-EAST (Soros) Foundation.

     Funding

     RWAR relies entirely on outside financing for its activities. There has been no financial help from the Romanian Government. All programs, activities and administrative costs have been funded through grants form international organizations and foundations. Funding for our programs has been generously provided by:
